IAG Spring conferences

Posted: 16 January 2010

DCSF is hosting nine one-day IAG Spring conferences around England in March, to support the delivery of the IAG strategy, within the context of school and 14-19 reforms.

The conferences will provide a summary of current policy and strategic direction around IAG, at both national and regional level. With a target audience of approximately 100-150 delegates per conference of head teachers, college principals, directors of children's services in local authorities, senior leaders in schools, businesses, third sectors organisations, other bodies.

Aim: to support senior leaders in schools, colleges and local authorities to deliver the IAG strategy within the context of school and 14-19 reforms.

Objective: to encourage delegates to think of ways they can:

  • Deliver the IAG Strategy through strong strategic leadership
  • Deliver high quality services
  • Develop the workforce
  • Work in partnership with employers
  • Engage parents

The result of these conferences should be a greater awareness and importance of how careers education/IAG is provided by Secondary Heads and related groups.

Conferences will be held in each of the nine government office regions in England. (Please note venue contracts are still to be signed.)
