Brief Guides to government Skills and Higher Education strategies

Brief Guides to the government's Skills and Higher Education strategies have been produced by LSIS.

The skills strategy, Skills for Growth, includes the Government's commitment to more apprenticeships, structural reform to intermediary bodies in the learning and skills system, and a new traffic light ratings system for providers and courses. It also includes new measures around skilled migrant labour, and indicators of future funding priorities.

The Higher Education strategy, Higher Ambitions, includes the Government's plans for a more business-oriented HE sector, as well as priority funding for STEM subjects and plans to make British HE a leading force in the provision of HE in the global market. It includes support for the provision of HE in FE, and by private providers.
