LSIS Policy Update No. 17
Posted: 19 June 2009
Welcome to LSIS Policy Update Number 17, compiled by Ben Margulies. This issue of the regular policy news roundup covers the dates 1 to 16 June 2009. Ben writes:
This week, the big story is of course the reshuffle, and I try my best to tell you who's running FE and skills now (short answer: Lord Mandelson and Kevin Brennan). If you don't know who Kevin Brennan is yet, don't worry: I tell you. There's also information on changes from DWP to DCSF to the Cabinet Office, and on how the Opposition and others received the reshuffle.
Also in the news: The European elections, the final report of the Nuffield inquiry into 14-19 education, a consultation on the new equalities bill and more autonomy for school head teachers, along with a new inspection system.
