First national event to celebrate EYPS
Posted: 2 July 2009
The first ever national event for Early Years Professional Status will be held on 14 July to celebrate and promote the gold standard in early years.
The free event, hosted by the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC), will be held at Birmingham's ICC, and will offer early years workers an opportunity to share their achievements and develop their skills.
The Rt Hon Dawn Primarolo MP, Minister for Children, Young People and Families and Clinical Psychologist Professor Tanya Bryon will attend and address delegates about the value of having highly trained individuals who can lead the learning and development of the under fives.
The day will also include a series of interactive workshops and presentations with topics ranging from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Leading change in early years and Exploring outdoor play. Those considering undertaking EYPS can meet with Early Years Professionals to discuss what it entails and speak with Training Providers to find out about the different study Pathways available.
Thom Crabbe, National Development Manager for Early Years at the Children's Workforce Development Council, said: "CWDC is delighted to be organising this new national event. As well as celebrating Early Years Professionals who have already been awarded the Status, this will be a great opportunity for continued professional development, specifically for Early Years Professionals but also for other early years practitioners and graduates interested in moving into early years.
"While many Early Years Professionals are active members of local networks, this event will be the first time that Early Years Professionals have come together on a national scale, to exchange ideas and celebrate how they're making a difference to children's learning and development."
