Adult advancement and careers service - urgent call for your participation
Posted: 2 July 2009
Procurement for the new adult advancement and careers service is imminent, and the service will be rolled out in 2010/2011.
Have you been involved in one of the pilots for this service? Whatever your role, ensure that we get the best possible deal by sharing your experience and your views on what is proposed.
- Email the editor of NAEGA News and Views as soon as possible, to allow board members to continue to represent your views on what worked well and your concerns and criticisms to government. Your name will not be disclosed.
- Use the blog and 'ideas forest' to see what other people have been saying. It is important that as many people as possible contribute so we can ensure that the views of NAEGA practitioners are heard and understood.
- Go into the old IAG review website and click on the Adult and Advancement and Careers Service homepage. There you will find information about current thinking as well as FAQ, and an email contact list which will allow you to be updated.
Tribal consultancy has been holding consultation events around the country as part of the review of the current quality arrangements for adult services. If you were not invited to attend one of these, there is just time to complete their online questionnaire.
Consultation meetings
NAEGA board members have attended consultation meetings as our contribution to shaping the new Adult Advancement and Careers Service. Stephen McNair, NAEGA president, has written to the DBIS (see link below) to ask for reassurances about the procurement timetable for the new service and to request greater consultation around the structure of funding and skills health check developments.
