SummitSkills, the Sector Skills Council for building services engineering has launched a campaign that promotes the benefits of choosing a career in their sector.
The campaign centres on the concept that you spend too long at work not to enjoy it - so why not join the building services engineering sector where you can have a 'good day' - every day.
Building services engineering is a highly skilled sector that requires a professional workforce with an environmental conscience. People working in the sector have a very important role to play in the smooth running of a building in terms of power, climate control, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation. They provide a valuable service that the majority of building occupiers take for granted.
Through a wide range of promotional material, the campaign emphasises the diversity of career opportunities within the sector ranging from apprentice to chartered engineer.
Over the next 12 months and beyond, SummitSkills will be applying the Good Day brand to promote the sector to potential new entrants. A variety of resources and material have been developed to support the campaign, including leaflets, a careers DVD, interactive game, refreshed careers material and case study booklets. The whole campaign is supported by a dedicated website www.goodday.org.uk where people can find out more information and download various items.
