EGSA performance claim

Posted: 24 October 2008

For every £1 of public funding, the exchequer gets an additional £9 of tax. This is the claim in a recent review in Northern Ireland of EGSA's performance.

'EGSA is funded by the Department for Employment and Learning. We ensure that the taxpayer gets an excellent return on his or her investment - for every £1 of public funding we receive, the exchequer gets an additional £9 of tax revenue through the extra employment which we help to create.'

EGSA has just published an easy-to-read four page briefing paper entitled Transforming Lives, Boosting the Economy: EGSA's Pivotal Role. The paper is based on a review conducted by Regional Forecasts/Oxford Economics in 2008.
