More reading on supervision for guidance workers

Posted: 2 March 2007

The recently published issue of British Journal for Guidance and Counselling (Vol 45 No1 Feb 2007) contains a useful article by Hazel Reid of Canterbury Christ Church University entitled, The shaping of the discourse positions of support and supervision for personal advisers in England.

Hazel uses the views of personal advisers, line managers and professional representatives to discus the differing views of each. She shows how the views of supervision and motivation both differ and overlap. It is a most helpful contribution to the debate on supervision.
