NAEGA is the membership body that represents the views and interests of those working in the adult career guidance sector. NAEGA's strength is in its membership. By joining NAEGA you are supporting the work NAEGA undertakes on behalf of the adult career guidance sector, a summary of which is outlined below:
Policy
- NAEGA is committed to the delivery of quality career guidance for young people and adults of all ages, but works specifically to promote career guidance for adults.
- NAEGA is committed to safeguarding adult career guidance as a specialism irrespective of the wider career guidance infrastructure or framework within which it operates.
- NAEGA ensures user and practitioner voices are heard through its lobbying activities and its representation on national stakeholder forums and steering groups.
- NAEGA aims to ensure the profile of adult career guidance is maintained at a time of public sector austerity.
Support for individual members
- NAEGA provides up-to-date information to membership through NAEGA newsflashes, its twitter account and its website (which is currently being revised).
- NAEGA encourages networking and sharing of good practice through an annual national conference, regional meetings and joint activities with other bodies.
- NAEGA members get reduced fees for NAEGA events, as well as special rates for some ICG training events.
- NAEGA promotes the interests of membership through its work with other professional bodies on the Careers Profession Alliance.
Support for corporate members
- NAEGA provides support to corporate members through its political lobbying and continuing professional development activities.
- NAEGA offers the opportunity for CPD activities that can be certificated and, where appropriate, linked to the new career development standards.
- NAEGA is willing to consult with individual corporate members with a view to meeting their needs through NAEGA policy and CPD activities and representing their views.
- NAEGA can provide consultancy and bespoke training services at special rates to its corporate members.
