Conference 2008 feedback
Ann Ruthven, NAEGA chair, received the following feedback on the conference:
”It was pleasure coming to the conference. I found the NAEGA delegates a most interesting and well-informed bunch and enjoyed lots of good conversations myself! I'm ashamed to say I didn't fill in an evaluation form but I attended the workshops on the NE libraries project and Adrienne's one on psychometrics. Both were excellent. The area of psychometrics and tests/tools generally was of real interest and concern to practitioners and will be a big issue in the new adult service. Maybe a topic NAEGA should do more on? I also thought Stephen's last piece was both wise and emotionally helpful.”

”Congratulations on what I thought was an excellent conference. There was a great atmosphere - one of sharing and discussion - and I think you and Stephen helped set this tone from the beginning. I enjoyed hearing other relevant perspectives such as the 'Workplace Discussions' input and thought there was a good balance of addresses and workshops. The whole conference seemed to run very well.”
Becca
”I was straight into work on my return so apologies for delay in sending this. I thought it was an excellent conference with just the right mix of formal input and opportunities to mix - and to see a bit of Oxford too. All the feedback I heard about the overall event was very positive. I think we are all very much indebted to you in particular, and to the rest of the team for all your efforts. For me it was totally stress-free - I'm not used to just being able to turn up and enjoy myself!”

”Very much thanks to you - I would not otherwise have been there on the Tuesday evening, and was extremely glad to meet old friends and very interesting new ones. I got some very helpful support for the Blueprint idea from workshop participants, so it was gain all round. Plus I got to go on and see my adorable little great nephew and great niece who live in Oxford (the less posh end) on the Weds afternoon. And everyone I spoke to said it had been a particularly good conference, so congratulations on that. Despite numbers being down I thought conference was very successful and enjoyable - a really nice location and lots of interesting developments to talk about. I think we'll be a very different organisation this time next year!”

”Thank you for a great conference, with lovely people and such wonderful surroundings. It was also really good to chat, albeit too briefly!”
Bill Davies
”The thanks should flow in much greater quantity in the other direction. I had an excellent and professionally enriching time, and I know that that is due very significantly to your tireless energy and the intangible 'other' - the insight into issues and what concerns people - that allowed you to shape such an excellent event. So a very BIG: THANK YOU!”
Lyn Barham
”I think the atmosphere was really good and the smaller numbers did make it a little more 'personal'. Apart from the one workshop we know about I don't think there were any negative comments at all about the content. One person gave negative feedback about dinner on Monday and lunch on Tuesday but personally I thought they were fine - it would be good however to ensure that we do offer fresh fruit at lunch time in particular - that was very well received in York I remember. And if that is all that could have been improved.”
”I know conference is a mammoth undertaking alongside a proper job and in your case big commuting. Hopefully someone else will pick up the mantle for next year!”
Kathy B.
”It was a superb conference and you were the star, I didn't do much at all! I really enjoyed it - wonderful location and a very warm buzz throughout. Hope you're now relaxing.”
